ProSailor - Andre Mirsky

Andre Mirsky began his sailing history when he was 20 days old. Since then he hasn't stopped sailing, and it's been many years of racing boats, competing, winning, losing, breaking and being the only one not to break down. It's a very rich history, with many classes, many Olympic campaigns, many World Championships, many victories and also tears of frustration.

While most sailors (professional or not) divide their days between sailing and other activities... Andre was always just sailing, he used all his time to sail better and better, and after 47 years that's an absurd amount of hours dedicated to sailing.

Andre has been in every position on an ocean-going boat, but he started the other way around, coming from the stern to the bow much more because of a market choice than because of his talents.

Being a professional helmsman is a challenge, after all, in most projects, the boat owners are at the helm, so he moved on to tactics, where he has always performed spectacularly, but it is also a very competitive position, often occupied by the boat owner's trusted man, so Andre started sailing a lot as mainsail and spi trimmer, which ends up being somewhat frustrating, because a trimmer doesn't make a boat win, it can make it lose.
